To let the *syslogd* also receive messages from your local network, edit the file ˋ/etc/default/syslogdˋ and modify the
last line so that it looks like this:

    SYSLOGD="-r"

Restart the *sysklogd* and watch your ˋ/var/log/messagesˋ.
